What a long day.
Chris and I stayed up late last night priming our kitchen cabinets. Daisy was kind enough to not wake up for a feeding until after 11, so we were able to get a lot of work done. This morning, we were up and at 'em, meeting friends at a park for a morning playdate. We were having so much fun that I didn't even get out my camera. BUT, I did catch my cautious, non-climbing boy climbing an arched ladder on the playground. He's so funny - he won't try something new and scary like that when he thinks anyone is watching him. Today, he wandered off to the far side of the playground all by himself and made his attempt. He really did pretty well!
After spending all morning outside, we chose to eat lunch outside, too. Hey - we have to savor this beautiful weather before it's scalding hot and ridiculously humid!
My happy lunch dates.
Don't let the plate fool you - the kid squished the beans out of his green beans and ate those, then ate one pea, one carrot, and three corn kernels. At least he ate some veggies, though!
Daisy, on the other hand, gobbled up her veggies, then clapped for herself. Yay, Daisy!
Sara and her boys came by right as Daisy woke up from her afternoon nap. We played inside as we waited for Caleb to wake up. Then we headed for the neighborhood playground.
Everyone got a turn to swing! Carter pushed Cooper, I pushed Caleb, and Sara briefly enjoyed the fun, until Caleb insisted that he wanted Sara - and Sara only - to push him.
Then Sara pushed both boys, while Daisy looked on. She was (mostly) content to watch the boys play.
But Carter insisted that Sara play kickball with him, so I took over on the pushing.
And this girl played happily in the wood chips and drank her brother's water.
It seems wrong that fun days can be so exhausting, but I definitely need to rest after today!
