February 10

Oh, Daisy.

We met with our Parent Educator for the first time in our new district today, and she wasn't happy with the fact that Daisy doesn't crawl. All the parenting books say that it's ok if your baby doesn't crawl, as long as she finds a way to get from place to place. But I've read recently, and our Parent Educator confirmed, that crawling does really important developmental things for Baby - things like strengthening hand muscles and encouraging brain development when it comes to crossing the midline. So.

After naptime, I put Daisy on her tummy and tried to help her crawl

She immediately went from her tummy to sitting for the first time ever! Guess I need to put her on her tummy more. But she didn't crawl. She did, however, scoot herself under the crib.

She wasn't so sure about her predicament.

"Help me, Mom!"

Her scooting took so much work that she had to take a little rest.

We paused for some self-portraits, too. They're blurry, but they show a happy mommy and baby.

Mostly, a really happy Mommy.

Then I stopped forcing Daisy onto her tummy and let her scoot around a little bit.
Happy girl! Why?

A trash can to empty!

Luckily, it only had a few tissues in it.

But Daisy still expected to find something exciting!
