How about lots of pictures today?

After church, I had a raging headache and ended up falling asleep with Daisy. We slept for three hours, and didn't wake up until Caleb woke up from his nap. Chris came in to get us and said, "How about we go apple picking?"

I leapt out of bed.

Thankfully, we chose to go during a window between rainy periods. Do you remember when we went apple picking last year? It's so funny to look at those pictures and think that Caleb wasn't walking yet, and I was about six weeks pregnant with Daisy, so no one knew about it. This time we tried a new farm. Herman's Farm is about thirty minutes from us, and relatively small, but it features apple picking, dig-your-own mums (never heard of that before!), nectarine picking, plus okra, peppers, and honey grown on site.

Their apple trees were still pretty young, but they were dripping with fruit!

Chris showed Caleb how to pick apples from the trees.

"Oooh! An apple! Want the purple ones!"

But Caleb preferred not to pick them off the trees. Instead, he foraged for good apples on the ground.

He was pleased with his hard work!

Daisy was interested in the apple picking, too!

I held an apple out for her, and she reached out to touch it.

She is such a sweet baby!

I'm not sure why, but I really, really love this photo.

And there he goes, running off to see the tractor!

Caleb was pretty excited about the tractor.

He was not excited about anything else.
Not the slide.

Not the tricycles.

Not the boy working at the farm stand. Chris was laughing because Caleb was terrified of pretty much everything.

It's a good thing he has his Daddy to protect him.

  1. What a fun day! It is so nice to look through all of these and see Caleb discovering new things all the time. Hahahha he was scared of the boy working there?! He is so funny. And Daisy reaching out to the apple?! OMG I love these pictures!
