After our run today (a three-mile "recovery" run, for those of you who are interested), Caleb, Daisy, and I spread a blanket out under the shady tree in our front yard and played.
It was perfect.
Ever since Ryan's football game on Saturday, Caleb has been obsessed with football.
Today he ran around the yard, threw the ball, and yelled:
Touchdown!
I'm open!
We need uniforms!
Where is the high school team! (Really. Funny, isn't it?)
Oh no! The high school team is gone!
Go long!
Pass!
Unfortunately, his football skills aren't quite on par with his football jargon yet.
Oops.
Meanwhile, Daisy and I lounged on a blanket in the shade.
She was delighted to watch her brother run and jump and shout.
Then Caleb got tired of football, and decided to ride his bicycle instead. He rode back and forth on the sidewalk, because that's the only flat spot. Every time a car came within a block of us, I'd say, "Stay put!" Instead of staying put, Caleb would climb off his bicycle and walk into the grass - just to be extra safe.
Eventually he wore himself out and joined us for some snuggles on the blanket. I'm sure you can imagine how thrilled Daisy was to have her hero come snuggle with her.
ok that first photo looks like it came outta JCrew Kids or something.... CUTE BABIES!!
