Today was another work day at the house. Well, Chris worked at the house. I brought the kids out for two hours in the morning and tried to help, but my ability to accomplish anything is pretty limited because of the kids. It's an unfamiliar experience, and very frustrating.
Caleb brought his tool belt and tried to help Daddy.
Once I opened up the big double front doors so that Daisy had a panoramic view of the street, she was quite content.
We brought lunch and had another blanket-picnic. Daisy munched on toast and broccoli.
Our church does a great job of creating Advent activities for families, and we've been following along with a fun Advent chain they created. Today's direction was to read part of the nativity story in the Bible, then create a family ornament. Luckily, we had a few supplies on hand. After dinner, we created this:
They're smudged and perfectly imperfect, but they're our fingerprints on a ceramic ornament. I did my thumbprint first, then Chris did his. Caleb was practically jumping in his seat, shouting, "Now it's Caleb's turn!" Daisy, however, was not so cooperative. But that's how it goes, isn't it?
Tomorrow we continue cleaning up the house, and start with painting! Several contractors have visited the house and suggested that the floors don't actually need to be refinished, so we're going to skip that tedious chore for now. AND, Chris is on the phone right now confirming that we've accepted a tenant for our current home. Hooray! I still can't believe we're doing this...
I was just going to say, the floors look pretty good to me in the pictures! Hooray for skipping tedious chores. :) And hooray for tenants!
