October 11

We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday today, so it was a busy day for the kids and me. Luckily, my mastitis seems to be improving. Unluckily, Caleb and Daisy were terrors this morning. It was one of the worst mornings we've had in a long time, as far as their behavior goes. But after early naps, they woke up feeling much more like their usual selves, and we commenced with the preparations for tonight's celebration. Caleb and Daisy even cleaned up their toys without being asked!

We got out brightly colored votives and lanterns, and enjoyed one of Mom's favorite meals.

A few days ago we switched Daisy to a booster seat at dinnertime, and now Lily can sit at the table with us in her high chair. We all enjoy it!

Lily and Jace had a little cousin-bonding time. The perspective makes Lily look a little bit bigger than she really is, but she is still quite a bit bigger than Jace.

We gave Mom a gift that I've been holding onto for a while: photos of all the kids and grandkids that I took at a park a few weeks ago. She was so happy!

Not 60 candles, but still enough to create a lot of ilght!

I love our low-key family birthday celebrations. What fun, especially now that we have all the little ones running around!
