August 8

We must have done something today. Really, we must have. But I just can't recall what it was!

Caleb spent some time playing with his new camera. GREAT Aunt Maggie generously sent him her old camera so that he could have one of his very own. The new camera agrees with him - he took much fewer photos of his feet, and more photos of actual subjects!

After naps, we took a trip to Target and got...
a potty for Caleb!

I realize that this is one of those photos that Caleb may one day kill me for publishing on the Inter-webs. But it's so funny, and so important, that I just have to share it. We're not actively trying to potty train him yet; he's definitely not entirely ready. But we've been talking about it with him a lot, so I thought it would be a good idea just to have one around so that he can explore and get familiar with it. I also showed him the big-boy undies that he gets to wear when he goes on the potty, and he was really excited.

When Chris got home from work, Caleb proudly showed off his new potty, and explained to Daddy that the splash guard at the front "Might pinch you." Then he wanted Daddy to go pee-pee on the potty. Too funny.

Bathtime.

This is a pretty typical scene: Caleb is helping wash Daisy's hair, while she gazes adoringly at Daddy. Now that she's three months old, we're starting to think about establishing a bedtime routine for her. It's much harder to do with #2 than it was with #1, because now we have two schedules to consider. But most nights, she gets a bath with Caleb, I dry and jammy-ify her while Caleb finishes his bath, I nurse her while Chris jammy-ifies Caleb, we all pray together, and Chris puts Caleb to bed while I put Daisy to sleep in our room. It's kind of hectic, but so far it seems to be working. It will only work for so long, though, before we have to move her out of the co-sleeper in our room and into her crib in Caleb's room.

That might get a little messy.
