October 9

Today we recovered from our journey into the big city with a little downtime at Maggie's house. First, Maggie took us out to breakfast at a fun little restaurant. Caleb didn't care about the restaurant, though. He was more interested in what Maggie had in her purse.

And oh, the bounty that Maggie had in her purse!

Caleb's favorite was Maggie's travel toothbrush. She didn't mind that he played with it. I don't think even I would be that generous, and he's MY kid!

Then we visited the place where Maggie's husband, Uncle Tim, works. The highlight of the visit?
A giant golf ball.

Or maybe it was the leaves.
In case you haven't noticed, Caleb can be a bit... cautious.
(he's afraid of leaves)

Maggie showed him the joy of jumping in big piles of leaves.

After a few practice jumps,

Caleb was off and running!

Headed for that big pile of leaves!

Can you see how happy he is? Because he was really happy.

Later, we hung out on the deck while Maggie ran to the grocery store.
This girl LOVES to be outside!

I love to be outside, too, but a view like this makes me love it even more.

Happy family, taking in the view.

Later, Maggie was reading a news story to us from her laptop when Caleb crept over, climbed up next to her, and snuggled in.

He really adores her!

And I think the affection might be mutual. Love it!
