Somebody has found her thumb...
She's my first thumb-sucker, so I'm not sure whether I should be delighted (At last! A built-in, sure-fire way to soothe herself!) or terrified (Dental bills! Palate malformations! Breaking her of the habit when she's 11!).
She's still working on her technique - right now, it tends toward covering her whole face with her hand, and ends up being a slobbery mess - but I think she's pretty happy with her discovery.
"What? A girl can suck her thumb if she wants to. No big deal, Mom!"
Ah, Lily. It's actually a very big deal. Good job!
I sucked my thumb until I was 7, never needed braces and didn't have any speech issues. Don't worry too much, it could be ok!
