March 21

This afternoon we met our friends Amber, Chris, and little Andrew at the Garden. Because it was spring break and Friday and beautiful, my Chris was able to leave work a little bit early and join us in the 75-degree sunshine. Talk about a good way to spend an afternoon!

We explored on our own before we met up with our friends - just enough time to say hello to Sassy Girl and ring the bells on the bell tree.
Chris helped Daisy with her ringing.

Lily was past due for her afternoon nap, so I wore her on my back in the hope that she would fall asleep. She finally did, 30 minutes before it was time to go!

This boy.
Four is apparently a really tough age? He was a mess this afternoon. After his nap, he flipped out when I told him he couldn't wear a muscle shirt and shorts to the Garden. Then he sobbed because I made him go potty. Then he dissolved into tears when I asked him to brush his teeth.
It's like having a thirteen-year-old girl or a pregnant lady for a son!

Sweet Doo hamming it up for the camera.
Can you see the scratches on her face? She fell off a swing yesterday, right at the apex of her arc, and face-planted into some wood chips. Poor girl is a bit worse for the wear, but she says it doesn't hurt anymore. At lunch today, she was crying because her face hurt. Caleb insisted that we pray for her, and I made him do the praying. Daisy cried the whole time, but it was so, so sweet.

That's Baby Andrew in the middle! He turns two on Monday, and is such a little man now!

Our new favorite at the Garden is the raccoon family. As soon as it gets warmer, these little guys will be splashing with fountains, and not so easy to climb upon.

That's either a two-headed raccoon, or Caleb playing peek-a-boo. Either way, Drew thinks it's hilarious!

Daisy ran laps in the boxwood garden,

and slowly - ever so slowly - Miss Lou fell asleep.

  1. We had so much fun! This morning Drew just walked around the house & pointed out things that Daisy played with - "Daisy's chair! Daisy's car!" He thinks all of your kids are pretty cool. ;)
