Most Sundays when we leave church and head to our weekly Costco visit, the kids climb into the van and begin begging: "Can we pleeeaaaassse go on a picnic?"
You see, the park where Chris and I were married is right between church and Costco. It's really easy to just grab a pizza at Costco and enjoy it at the park. The kids love it so much that they will ask to do it whether it is raining, windy, 35 degrees... whatever.
Today we said yes, and had a lovely picnic!
My mom even joined us for the picnic, so the kids were especially happy.
Plus, pizza.
(Except that Caleb had a minor meltdown and insisted that he wasn't going to eat pizza and may have cried a bit because he really wanted a ham and cheese sandwich from Jimmy John's. Poor kid. He ended up eating pizza crust and strawberries.)
After naps and dinner, we went for a family bike ride. Caleb really didn't want to go, so we compromised by letting him ride the Tag Along while Daisy and Lily rode in the trailer. But then Daisy whined that riding in the trailer gives her a headache, so we compromised with her by letting her ride without her helmet, since she was buckled into the trailer.
Our neighbors, Mary and Terry, saw us heading out and Terry laughed that he had to have a picture of Chris' crazy setup. It is pretty funny, isn't it? I love that he can single-handedly tow all four of our children, while I ride alongside effortlessly. That husband of mine is a good man.
