November 5

We spent all morning getting Caleb to school and Daisy to school and the rest of us to MOPS, then enjoying MOPS, then leaving MOPS and getting Daisy home from school, then lunching and napping... it was a whole lot of nothing today.

When it was time to get Caleb from the bus, it was raining. Luckily, I thought to get started five minutes earlier, because rain requires rain boots and rain coats and umbrellas for everyone. (At least, that's what the kids think.) Also, I have discovered that Lily takes twice as long to walk anywhere when she's carrying an umbrella. I can't figure out any physical reason for her to be so slow, so it must be psychological. Or maybe she's just enjoying a leisurely walk in the rain.
Regardless, girl is slow, so we left early.
It's a bad cell phone picture, but aren't they cute? Daisy's raincoat is a size 2T, and she's getting closer every day to a 5T, so I may have to go searching for a new rain coat for her soon. But we have rain boots and umbrellas a-plenty!

I wrapped Eli on my back, then put Chris' hoodie around both of us and shared my umbrella with him. It's a good setup! They sell beautiful babywearing coats for upwards of $200, but for quick bus stop runs, nothing beats an oversized hoodie.

Eli was fascinated by the umbrella, and the rain, and the sound of the rain on the umbrella.

BIG puddle! Splish Splash!
And now it's thunderstorming. In November. Go figure.

  1. fall is so much prettier in STL! Here it is just the same...with maybe a few brown leaves. There will be more color but not until like Dec. and not nearly as many bright trees.
    Cute rain pictures!!
