July 4

Happy Independence Day!

This year marked both Caleb and Daisy's first year celebrating 4th of July festivities; last year, we didn't even bother trying, so this year everything was new and fun for Caleb.

We celebrated at a party hosted by our friends Trey and Emily - what a great time!

Both kiddos were decked out in their patriotic best. I got Caleb's shirt on clearance last summer and held onto it for today.

Daisy's sweet little dress was a hand-me down from our friend Melody. She even had little red sandals!

Chris and Amber D, this photo is for you!

Trey and Emily thought of everything. They even had water balloons for Caleb and Grace.
Caleb had a blast with the water balloons. His antics entertained all of the adults, too!

"OHHHH BOOOOYYY!"

Caleb even got a big broom and swept up the broken balloon pieces, while Grace picked them up by hand. What good kids we have!

We left early, so we missed the fireworks display. There were lots to see on our drive home, though, and as we drove into our neighborhood, we realized what a great view we had.
So Chris pulled over the car, and we got out to watch.

Caleb: "Ohhh! It's CRAZY down there!"

Later, as Chris was getting Caleb ready for bed, Chris asked, "Caleb, what sound do fireworks make?"

Caleb thought for a while, and I thought he wasn't going to answer. Then he said, "Hmm. Kind of BOOM BOOM! Kind of crazy!"

And he's right! What a funny boy!
