October 16

We celebrated a lovely Saturday morning with a trip to the pumpkin patch. We didn't choose just any old pumpkin patch, though; we chose the pumpkin patch whose fields Chris hoed one summer as a teenager. He has fond memories of this pumpkin patch!

It's also much better than our pumpkin experience last year. Since Caleb was only 3 months old, we didn't think it was worth the time to go to a pumpkin patch. Instead, we visited

Wal-Mart's pumpkin patch. And we're not even Wal-Mart shoppers. I still feel terrible about that, so I'm glad today was so much fun! Brace yourself for an onslaught of photos.

Caleb had a great time driving the pretend fire truck.

And he was even more excited about this old tractor!

However, Caleb wasn't the biggest fan of the pumpkins themselves.

But when I asked him if he would give the pumpkin a kiss...
he eagerly complied!

Caleb was much more excited about the ugly mini-gourds.

Apparently, he also found the mini-pumpkins to be irresistable, too.

He was pretty proud when he found this cool striped gourd - Chris thought it was hilarious!

Caleb was much more interested in his gourds than in posing with Mommy!

What a fun morning! It's hard to believe that next year, we'll be making the trip with a 2-year-old and a 6-month-old!
