Chris decided that for Mother's Day, he wanted to take his mom and the kids to the Botanical Garden. Though Daisy woke up with a seriously runny nose (but fever-free!) and today promised to be cool and dreary, they went anyway, and I even got up early to make sure they were all set to have a good morning.
In between preparing snacks and packing the diaper bag, I managed to catch these glimpses of what mornings with Daddy are like:
While Chris made banana pancakes, Caleb and Daisy sat on the counter, reading.
(Daisy's little feet peeking out from under her book kill me!)
Their favorite part of mornings with Daddy is when he cleans out the blender. He fills it with water and Dawn dish soap, then gives it a quick whirl.
First, the kids smell the soapy water.
Then, after it has sat for a while, they blow into the bubbly water and make bubbles fly up into their faces.
This is seriously entertaining stuff, people.
Then Daddy gives a big blow, and soap bubbles end up all over his face.
Yep. Good stuff.
From what I hear, they had a great morning with Grandmother. The sun ended up shining, it was warmer than expected, and I got to putter around the house and go grocery shopping by myself. All in all, a good day for everyone!
