August 3

In honor of his Aunt Jenny's birthday today, Caleb would like to demonstrate some of his mad skills:

This is the awkward-half-twist-pull-up, used to scale large pieces of furniture.

Here, Caleb demonstrates his ability to See and Say by "seeing" the toy and "saying" (signing) more so that Daddy will pull the lever again.
(Yes, our living room is a toy graveyard. We pick everything up each evening. Really.)

Caleb's latest trick is the sumo-squat, in which he uses someone's lap as leverage to hoist himself to standing. I have a feeling that professional sumo wrestlers often need to use this same move.

Here, Caleb gives us a hint about his future tricks. He's clearly reaching for the surfer on Chris' shirt, indicating that as soon as we put him in front of an ocean (and he learns to stand unassisted), he will be a surfer.

  1. oh my gosh, he looks older here, well as old as a 1 year old can look. His little face is changing...maybe has to do with the second hair cut. ;)
