Today was the day that I was glad I had pre-emptively lowered Caleb's crib all the way.
This was what I found when I went in to get him after his morning nap.
I know you're probably thinking, "What? Carrie just wanders around her house with her DSLR camera 'round her neck, waiting for photo ops? What a wacko!"
The truth is, I went in to get him up, saw this, had a good laugh, and ran back downstairs to get my camera. It's an important milestone, right?
Later, we went back to visit Emily and Max. Caleb is slowly warming up to his new cousin.
Today he even ventured a little pat!
In that moment, I was really glad that we have been working on the concept of "gentle" for 3 months now.
He's still very skeptical of the baby, but I think he'll get used to him.
