I went in to put Lily down for her nap this afternoon, and she was doing this:
Snuggled up in the doll cradle, sucking on her baby doll's pacifier. That girl is so silly!
Today is Monday, which means it is a swim meet day. Daisy has finally decided that she is willing to compete in a meet!
This was right after warmups. Daisy was excited to be photographed. Caleb, not so much. But they held hands without me telling them to, which is the cutest thing ever. I love everything about this picture.
But then I put on my mom voice and told Caleb that this picture really mattered to me because it was Daisy's first meet, and he cooperated.
Daisy has worked hard to get to this point!
She is a stinker, but I love her.
She can also do this now.
And Lily is learning to pump her legs and swing on her own!
And Caleb can do this now. I give the credit to this all to swim team - those two-a-day practices have made him really strong!
Lily was ready for her kickboard race. Isn't she hilarious? Those goggles don't do anything for her sweet little face.
Her favorite kickboard helper, Andrew, swam with her. He isn't fast, but he sure is kind.
Daisy chatted with the other first-grade girls while she waited for her race. Another mom of a girl her age made sure to introduce Daisy to the three other girls who will be on her bus and in her class when school starts, and it has helped a lot.
She's ready!
She's off!
She grabbed the wall one time, but the meet official either didn't see it or didn't consider it an offense, so she wasn't disqualified.
This was her immediate reaction to finishing her first race ever.
After she had a moment to process, her face shifted to this. She was so proud of all of her hard work, and it was the best she had ever swum!
Caleb swam, too, but Daisy was the story of the day. Congratulations, Daisy!
