August 5

While Chris and Caleb went to church today, Daisy and I stayed home and had girl time. She is just now over the cold she got two weeks ago, and I need some time to recover before taking the risk of exposing her to germs again.

So we stayed home.
We ate.
Played.
Went for a walk.
Played on the front porch.
I worked on replacing the tabs on her diapers while she scooted around.

And then she was so cute that I couldn't stand it anymore and had to run inside to get my camera.
She is so pleased with herself every time she climbs up on this little bench!
(I keep meaning to refinish it, but its current patina has a nice charm, don't you think?)

Then I asked, "How big is Daisy?"
Oh! She knows this!

Soooooo big!

I love this kid.

She waved at every single walker, runner, and dog that passed our house. Each time, she flapped her little hand and shouted, "Bah-bah!"

Our girl time was good.

Then the boys came home, and Caleb had a pocket full of mints from church. Specifically, he had three mints in his pocket. Chris saw him grabbing them at church and made him put them back. But a few minutes later, he sadly told Daddy that he was trying to save the mints for Mommy and Daisy, and Chris marched him right back to the mint table to grab some for us.

At lunch, we played, "How big is Daisy?" again. Caleb wanted to get in the game, though, so he initiated a round of, "How pretty is Mommy?", followed quickly by a round of, "How handsome is Daddy?" By dinner, he had upgraded Daddy to, "How smart and handsome is Daddy?"

Our little boy. He's a keeper.
