We spent a good part of this lovely day outside. The kids were in great moods, and we had lots of fun!
When Lily woke up this morning, Caleb and Daisy raced in to her room to help get her out of bed.
But then Daisy asked, "Can I be in her crib, too?"
And then Caleb wanted in... and suddenly I had three little monkeys in the crib! As they sat there, I told them how Caleb slept in the crib when he was a baby, and then Daisy had her turn, and now it's Lily's turn. Daisy doesn't quite understand the concept, and thinks that when Lily gets bigger, she and Lily will share the crib.
After preschool we shared lunch with our friends Caleb and Hannah, and Daisy and Caleb were so excited to show their friends the new sandbox. The kids all napped, and then more outside time. Chris had a work event, so I was on my own for dinner. Luckily, I planned for us to have the kids' favorite meal for dinner: Swedish meatballs.
Even Lily devours the meatballs.
Chris got home a little earlier than expected, and the kids all ate a great dinner, so we stopped at the grocery store to pick up some chocolate-covered frozen bananas, and went to the lake to enjoy the sunset.
This boy was so, so happy.
This girl was pleased, too. She's such a beautiful mess with that wild hair!
I love that you can see hints of Lily in this picture if you look closely enough: a little hand at Caleb's shoulder, a wisp of hair above Chris' shoulder.
The sunset wasn't particularly stunning, but we didn't mind. It was a lovely little treat for our family.
It was a sacrifice, but I bit the chocolate off one of the frozen bananas so that Lily could have it. She loved it!
There was one extra banana in the box, so Chris, Caleb and Daisy shared it. Caleb had already had one banana, which is the only reason he's sharing in this picture.
I love my camera remote! Caleb and Daisy are grinning those big grins because they each got a turn to push the remote button. Can you see it in Caleb's hand?
*sigh*
(if only the baby weren't chewing on a wooden stick and covered in banana goo...)
Two happy children. Caleb and Daisy were in such good moods that they didn't even flip out when I told them we didn't have time to play at the playground!
