It rained almost all day today. That didn't stop us from going to Costco and the fabric store, but still. By lunch time, Caleb was begging to go play on the swing set, despite the cold rain. Since it was lunch and nap time, I had to tell him no. When he woke up from his nap (he'll be five in less than two months, and he's still napping 2-3 hours a day! I need to break him of that habit in the next three months...), he was antsy and stir-crazy and bored, bored, bored.
Luckily, it wasn't too long before Chris came home from work and agreed to supervise as Caleb and Daisy rode their bikes in the rain.
Daisy grinned from ear to ear when she saw me come out with my camera. Apparently she thought bike-riding in the rain was super-cool and fun!
I love the look they're sharing here.
Daisy (grinning at the camera): "Caleb! Say 'muddy'!!!"
Caleb, who had just fallen in the mud, shouted, "MUDDY!"
Daisy, who had not fallen in the mud, said (through gritted teeth and a smile), "NOT MUDDY!"
(Side note: there was a mud puddle at the end of the sidewalk. Chris saw it and warned Daisy not to go in it because her bike is too slippery to handle it well. Surprisingly, Daisy obeyed. When she saw Caleb go toward the mud puddle, she told him not to go in. He did not obey, and he fell and got all muddy. Daisy looked at Chris and said, "Caleb is being a stinker. I am not a stinker. I am a good girl."
And Lily just watched and laughed.
How is she so cute?
