We had a busy day today! First, the kids had swim practice.
Before practice, Daisy showed me this snazzy new tandem carry she created.
Then we went on a storybook walk on a nearby trail.
It was hot and there was no shade, but we persevered. Luckily we had our fancy new hydration packs! The book wasn't that great, but the trail was fun.
Last night I stayed up late making plans for our summer. Here's what our chalkboard looks like now:
It is going to be a busy June/first half of July, but then things should slow down.
Caleb and Daisy had their first swim meet of the season this evening Funnily, the meet was held at the pool Chris grew up swimming at.
Daisy didn't swim, but I made her put on her suit and support her team anyway. Even if she isn't ready to swim, she is an important part of the team.
This pool was super close to Chris' parents' house, so Gayle came out to cheer Caleb on. It was so nice to have her there to help with the kids!
The girls didn't need help with their balancing.
Caleb was excited for his first race!
His dive still needs a bit of work.
Waiting for his leg of his next race - a relay!
Cheering for their brother! (I helped Lily make a flower crown. Isn't she sweet?)
Eli likes to cheer, too.
Go, Caleb!
Coach was telling him where to go after his race.
OH! I found a fairy in the garden!
Actually, it's just a fun fairy wing action set I purchased recently. These pictures of backlit Lily were too perfect, so I had to try them. Fun, huh?
And then, this. Our swim team parent rep coordinated a team suit hand-me-down/exchange, and she found a suit that was just Daisy's size. Isn't it amazing to see how she blossomed from being grouchy and down to this, just because she got a team suit? I love it so much.
