I'm discovering that afternoons and evenings are better if I just don't expect Lily to nap. If we're on the go, it's even better. But the girl still takes a few hours to settle into sleep anytime after noon.
Don't let that darling little yawn fool you. The girl won't sleep.
We continue to work on the bottle/pacifier situation. Now the whole family is involved in fighting this battle.
Daisy did this all by herself - found a pacifier and popped it in Lily's mouth.
Surprisingly, Lily doesn't cry when Daisy does it. She doesn't take the paci, but she doesn't cry, either.
I love this one, even if Daisy is out of focus. Daisy is so proud of herself for "helping", and Lily is silently pleading for help. Ha! Get used to it, kiddo! Daisy has lots of love to give!
As soon as Daisy abandoned her post, Caleb stepped in. Lily cried for him.
And then, the most exciting part of the day:
Daisy peed on the potty for the first time!
We've been talking about pottying a lot, sitting on the potty a lot, and I even bought her some new Minnie Mouse undies, but Daisy had yet to actually do anything in the potty. Today she insisted on wearing her big girl undies, so I let her. After an hour and a half I began to get nervous, and insisted she sit on her potty, but nothing happened. Then, while we were all brushing our teeth and getting ready to go to the library, I saw her walk over to her potty, pull down her undies, and pee. It was like she'd been doing it for years!
We were all really excited.
She wore her undies to the library, and kept them dry. Then lunch time came around and I got lazy and she had an accident in the kitchen. She wore a diaper for naps, and then stayed dry (but didn't use the potty) all afternoon.
So it definitely wasn't a potty training win today, but it was a big step in the right direction. And the most important part? Daisy is totally excited about it!
