Chris was home today, because apparently the best way for the people of our nation to thank our brave veterans is to give bankers the day off work. I'm not complaining - I'm a big fan of bank holidays and having my husbando home. But it seems a little odd.
Before I knew today was Veteran's Day, we made a playdate with some friends. It was supposed to be in the mid-sixties today, so we thought outside would be appropriate. Except that we met at 9:30, when it was still 45 degrees out. Oops. Luckily, the kids have coats.
The playground we visited was new, and super-fun. Caleb was feeling unusually bold today, and attempted some things that surprised and even concerned me. But then I was proud of him for stepping outside his bubble of caution. What mixed feelings the mother of a cautious two-year-old has!
There were four types of swings: big-boy swings, chair swings, baby swings, and swings that were like giant discs that accomodate a person lying down. Caleb tried all but the last.
Baby swings were his favorite.
He also went several slides, climbed up an area not meant for climbing, and walked across a really narrow rope bridge that was not meant for two-year-olds. All without getting hurt. My big boy!
Daisy, meanwhile, fell asleep.
She looked pretty sweet in her darling new hat and matching mittens, though.
Chris attended the inspection of our future home today. I had to stay home with the kiddos while they napped. Apparently there's more work involved in the house than we thought. Isn't that always the case? The shower in the master bathroom is basically unusable without some major repairs. So basically, we'll need to totally re-do the bathroom, including repairing the water lines. Ugh. But at least there's an additonal bathroom for us to use until we decide what to do about the bathroom... Overall, though, there were no major surprises. So we're moving ahead...
Yay! I'm glad the inspection didn't turn up anything to shut down your deal - super happy for you!
