Today we skipped church and took the kiddos out to a picnic hosted by an attourney Chris works with. It was a long drive, and hot outside, but totally worth it. We got to chat with lots of interesting adults (a rarity for me!!) and Caleb got to run around the property and play with all of the fun toys.
Caleb's favorite toy?
The fountain.
This kid loves fountains of any kind, whether it's hot outside or not.
Daisy didn't mind the heat, and was totally content in her wrap most of the time. She just ate, slept, stretched, ate, and slept. What a good baby! It's a shame she wasn't out of the wrap more, though, because she wore a new dress today.
This dress was a gift from our friend Jessica. Daisy's just now starting to get out of her newborn clothes and into her 0-3 month clothes, which is really exciting for me. Her newborn clothes are mostly onesies and sleepers, but the bigger clothes include some really fun dresses and outfits.
(Chris picked out this dress for Daisy to wear today - he was torn between it, and a sweet little sundress his mom gave Daisy.)
Also, do you see these smiles?
I figured out that if I dab at her chin and speak in a goofy, high-pitched voice, Daisy will smile every time.
Guess who's been dabbing and squeaking like a crazy person? Me. This girl has me wrapped around her finger.
Things I love about Daisy's smile:
she scrunches up her nose when she really smiles
that cute little dimple
the way she sticks her (newly un-tied) tongue out
I know every momma thinks her baby is cute, but I think even neutral parties would agree that this one's a keeper.
